Indian national found dead in Australia’s Queensland floods

Meanwhile, Australian news agencies reported that a woman died after her vehicle was submerged in floodwaters near Mount Isa. Authorities found the woman in the car and pronounced her dead, Australian news outlets reported.

“At around 1.15pm, emergency services received reports of a white Toyota Hilux partially submerged in the flooded Malbon River near Duchess Road, Cloncurry. The driver of the vehicle, a 28-year-old Townsville woman, was injured. She was found inside the vehicle and pronounced dead. An investigation into the circumstances of the woman’s death is ongoing, Queensland Police said in a statement.

Senior Constable Adam King told ABC said the woman appeared to be trying to walk through flooded areas. “She was then swept down the causeway, which sadly resulted in the ultimate cost – her life.” ABC.

Queensland Police also did not reveal the person’s name or age.
