Ather Energy, a Bengaluru-based electric scooter maker, is all set to launch its new family scooter Rizta.

The scooter, which was recently spotted during testing, is decked out in attractive packaging with animated family portraits that piqued curiosity.

CEO Tarun Mehta further fueled the sentiment when he took to X-Handle (formerly Twitter) to share how the Rizta chair compares to its competitors, specifically the Ola S1 Pro and Honda Activa 6G expect. Mehta claims that the Rizta will have the widest seating range in the scooter market.

In the shared image, the Rizta’s seats are placed side by side with the Ola S1 Pro, with a significant increase in length and width, especially at the rear.

Another comparison with the Honda Activa 6G Seat further substantiates the claim that the Rizta has the largest seat in the market.

The boxy design of the Ather Rizta is reminiscent of the TVS iQube, not just the spacious seats. The scooter will also include large handlebars and a spacious floor. It’s also expected to feature the same wheels as the 450X and may offer folding pillion running boards, Rushlane reports.

The Rizta is expected to match the Ather 450S’s 2.9kWh battery, with a certified range of 115km, with longer-range options likely to come in the future.

In terms of design, the Rizta takes a more direct approach compared to the Ather 450 series, with minimal cutouts on the side panels.

The scooter will feature a wide, flat floor, comfortable-height handlebars, rear-facing handlebars, foldable pillion footrests, fenders on the sides, premium mirror bars, and LED heads integrated horizontally into the front panel lamp.

Under-seat storage space is expected to be increased, possibly with a 22-liter capacity, and it may feature a 7.0-inch DeepView LCD instrument panel.

While specific battery details and performance specs have yet to be revealed, Ather enthusiasts can expect the Rizta to push boundaries in terms of range and performance.

The scooter is set to launch during Ather Community Day in June 2024, with more details and pricing to be announced closer to the date.

Early estimates suggest that the Rizta will be priced higher than the Ather 450 S, positioning it under Rs 1,30,000 to compete with the likes of TVS iQube, Hero Vida V1 Pro and Bajaj Chetak.
