A Improvement UK Council leader has said that the police should be given the power to “shoot people if necessary” Party launched a rift on crime,
Kent County Council Leader Linden Kemkaran said that the police forces must have “proper support” to shoot those who take risks to the officials or members of the public.
Talking to Times Radio, he said: “We should give appropriate support to shoot people to be able to be able to be able to do our police, to catch criminals, if necessary, if they feel that the person is going to present a real and current threat to the person himself and the police or the members of the police.
“You know, look at the police that have been dragged to do only their work through the courts. I think it is disgusting.
“I think what we need to do, if a police officer discharges his gun because they really think that either their life, their colleagues’ life or members of public life are put in danger, the police officer should not be drawn through the courts and when they do not do they do not, they should be caught like a criminal.”
