Mumbai Indians suffered a third consecutive defeat in the 2024 Indian Premier League (IPL) season after losing to Rajasthan Royals on Monday. Hardik is yet to win a match for his team since being appointed captain of Mumbai Indians. He looked to have good touch with the bat against the Royals but was unable to convert his cameo into bigger hits. When MI suffered another defeat in the ongoing election campaign, Hardik took to social media to post an encouraging message.

The Mumbai Indians skipper posted on X (formerly Twitter): “If there’s one thing you should know about this team, it’s that we never give up. We will keep fighting and we will keep going.”

After the match, Hardik admitted that it was his wicket that changed the balance of the game in Rajasthan’s favour.

“Yes, it was a tough night and we didn’t start the way we wanted to. I wanted to fight back and we were in a good position to get us around 150-160 but my wicket made them more More to come back into the game and I need to do more. It’s OK, we didn’t expect a surface like this but you can’t always take it as a batsman and sometimes it’s good for the bowlers to have a say.

“It’s all about doing the right things and sometimes the (right) results happen and sometimes they don’t. As a team we believe we can do better but we need to be more disciplined and show more courage, “Hardik said at the post-match award ceremony.

Mumbai FC are at the bottom of the IPL 2024 table, having lost 3 games in as many games.
