The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models have quickly become best-selling devices since their launch in September 2023. One of the standout features is the improved photo experience, which has attracted the attention of photography and movie lovers.

While features like shooting in ProRes LOG are critical, slow-motion video capabilities have improved significantly over the years. It enables users to inject drama and intrigue into scenes. Importantly, this feature is not exclusive to the iPhone 15 series; it is available on older iPhones such as the iPhone 5S.

That said, recording slow-motion videos on your iPhone device is very easy and requires almost no effort on your part.

Follow these steps to shoot in slow motion on a compatible iPhone:

  1. Launch the camera application.
  2. Swipe the camera mode options to the right until you find “Slow Motion.”
  3. In slow motion mode, set your preferred frame rate.
  4. Point the camera at the subject or scene you want to capture in slow motion.
  5. Click the red record button to start recording.
  6. Once you’ve finished recording the desired clip, click the Stop button to end it.
  7. To check the recorded video, go to the Photos app.

Additionally, you even have the flexibility to edit when the slow-motion action starts and stops at specific times. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click the video thumbnail and select Edit.
  2. Use the bar below the frame viewer to limit the portions you want to play in slow motion.
