How Genie Yadav unleashed venom on party: Shocking allegations in charge sheet

Elvish Yadav was arrested in the case and is out on bail

New Delhi:

YouTuber Elvish Yadav used a fictitious phone number to coordinate the supply of snake venom to rave parties and send instructions to snake charmers, Noida police said in a 1,200-page chargesheet filed in an Uttar Pradesh court yesterday.

The chargesheet, which names eight defendants and contains testimonies from 24 witnesses, contains shocking details about how the YouTuber allegedly arranged the venom for the party. Noida police said he used a fictitious phone number for this purpose. Virtual numbers provide more privacy and are not restricted by location or device.

The chargesheet states that when a party was planned and venom was needed, Elvish Yadav called his friend Vinay using a virtual number. Vinay would then convey the instructions to Ishwar, who would then pass them on to the snake charmer. The charge sheet states that snake charmers would arrive at the party venue with snakes. Police found Elvish’s fictitious number in Vinay’s call records.

Elvish, Vinay and Ishwar were arrested last month for questioning and have been released on bail.

Noida police also said that venom was extracted from the snake at a banquet hall owned by Ishwar. The charge sheet states that Elvish Yadav has links with snake charmers who are currently in jail. The police also explained their rationale for invoking sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985 against YouTubers.

Senior police officer Vidya Sagar Mishra said the venom recovered from the snake charmer belonged to the krait, a member of the cobra family. “We have filed a chargesheet against all the named accused. We have also given statements of adequate number of witnesses. Among them is an expert from the Mumbai Forensic and Toxicology Department.”

In November last year, five snake charmers were arrested at a banquet hall in Sector 51, Noida, and nine snakes, five of which were cobras, were recovered from their possession. About 20 ml of suspected snake venom was also found. Snake charmer arrested, now on bail. Investigation into the matter led the police to Elvish Yadav and other accused.
