In his resignation letter emailed to the Speaker, the veteran lawmaker said he told the Speaker he would resign as a lawmaker after listening to his “inner voice.” “I am very clear about my decision to resign. In December 2022, the BJP won a huge mandate, winning 156 of the total 182 parliamentary seats in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat.
