The arrival of Honda’s new 350cc scrambler model seems to indicate that the company is still expanding its product line-up.

Now leaked design patent photos suggest that Honda is developing a beefy Scrambler variant based on the CB350 platform, in response to recent reports that Honda is looking to enter the adventure market with a bike modeled after the Himalayan 411.

According to Motorbeam, the leaked images show the typical design elements of the Scrambler, such as the metal frame on the side of the tank, the fork leg guards and the upswept exhaust pipes. Interestingly, the adventure motorcycle depicted in the latest patent photos bears a strong resemblance to these design cues.

The new Honda 350cc Scrambler will compete with the Yezdi Scrambler, Royal Enfield Scrambler 411 and Triumph Scrambler 400X models and is expected to be launched in 2025.

Honda 350cc Scrambler: All about design, engine and specs

There are many similarities between Honda’s 350cc ADV and scrambler models. For example, the seats and fuel tank appear to be identical. The overall layout of the design also looks familiar. ADV features, on the other hand, include a raised front beak, tall windshield, extended suspension travel, larger front wheels, wire-spoke wheels, and luggage racks at the front and rear.

The 350cc Honda scrambler has wide handlebars, round headlights, alloy wheels of the same size at both ends, front fork leg guards, a metal frame on the fuel tank and an upturned exhaust pipe. The 350cc ADV also has an upswept exhaust, but is smaller. The listening experience should be different from the ADV and current CB350 due to the use of a different exhaust.

The 350cc Honda scrambler has a relaxed standing position while riding. The seat height of a bucket rider seat can be less than 800 mm. There are no designated armrests and the rear seat area seems small.

Meanwhile, the suspension setup consists of front telescopic forks and dual rear shock absorbers. Scrambler and ADV models are likely to have similar suspension and braking setups.

The existing Honda H’ness CB350 has front and rear disc brake sizes of 310 mm and 240 mm respectively. Dual-channel ABS is standard. The CB350 features an all-LED setup, as do the 350cc scrambler and ADV bikes.

The 350cc scrambler will be powered by a 348.36cc engine producing a maximum power of 21 bhp and a peak torque of 30 Nm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Honda will likely continue to tweak the engine, but the gear ratios could be tweaked to match the bike’s scrambler profile. Honda will use existing CB350 components wherever possible. A similar strategy will be adopted for the upcoming 350cc ADV bike.
