Patna, Oct 24 (IANS) Union Home Minister Amit Shah, while addressing a massive rally in Siwan on Friday, launched a strong attack on RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and the Grand Alliance (Grand Alliance) and accused the opposition of trying to bring back the “Jungle Raj” era in Bihar.
Shah said that he has first come to meet the people of Siwan because of the historical and political importance of the district.
“By giving ticket to Shahabuddin’s son, Lalu Yadav has proved that he wants to bring back jungle raj in Bihar. The people of Siwan know very well how Shahabuddin had drenched this earth with blood by committing 75 heinous murders. By making his son a candidate, Lalu Yadav wants to scare the people again. This clearly shows that the grand alliance wants to take Bihar back into the darkness of anarchy.” The NDA, by fielding Anand Mishra (retired IPS), is taking the state towards good governance,” Shah said.
He announced that after the November 14 elections, NDA will once again form the government in Bihar under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
He said, “Lalu Prasad’s sons will be completely defeated on November 14. Nitish Kumar has brought Bihar back on track and for the last 10 years, Narendra Modi has worked tirelessly to improve the lives of Biharis.”
He recalled the fear that once prevailed in Siwan during Shahabuddin’s reign, describing how people had endured atrocities during the Lalu-Rabri regime.
Shah said, “The people of Siwan suffered a lot during Jungle Raj, but never bowed down. They ended that dark rule and today I want to assure them – this is Modi and Nitish’s Bihar. Even if a hundred Shahabuddins come, they cannot harm anyone now.”
“You have just celebrated Diwali, you will soon celebrate Chhath Puja, but the real Diwali will be on November 14, when Lalu’s son will be completely defeated.”
Praising Nitish Kumar’s role, he said, “Ending Jungle Raj is Nitish Kumar’s biggest contribution. He freed Bihar from fear and anarchy.”
Pointing out the difference between the BJP-led Center and previous governments, Shah said, “When Sonia and Lalu were in power at the Centre, biryani was being served to terrorists. But when Pakistani terrorists attacked Pahalgam, Modi’s government launched Operation Sindoor, entered Pakistan’s territory and eliminated them.”
He also invoked Chhathi Maiya (Goddess Chhathi), seeking blessings for Bihar’s peace and progress.
“I pray to Chhathi Maiya to bless the people of Bihar so that jungle raj never returns here.”
Shah took a sharp dig at Rahul Gandhi and accused him of adopting a soft attitude towards infiltrators.
“Rahul Gandhi says infiltrators should be allowed to stay in Bihar. You tell me – should infiltrators stay here or be thrown out? Once the NDA government comes back, we will identify every infiltrator and throw him out of the country,” he promised.
Paying tribute to the rich heritage of Siwan, Shah said, “This land is the land of Rajendra Babu (Dr. Rajendra Prasad), the first President of India and Speaker of the Constituent Assembly. Mahatma Gandhi and Madan Mohan Malviya also visited Siwan during their Champaran visit. I bow to this sacred soil.”
Concluding his speech, the Home Minister listed a series of alleged scams during Lalu Prasad Yadav’s tenure, including Rs 940 crore fodder scam, land-for-job scam, Railway Hotel scam, tar scam, flood relief scam, BPSC recruitment scam and AB Export benami property scam.
“Lalu Prasad has been involved only in scams and corruption all his life. Can the one who has looted Bihar in so many ways ever do good to this state?” Shah asked.
