Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister, Amit Shah on Friday visited Poonach to express solidarity with the recent shell affected families in civilian areas in the district.
On his arrival, the Home Minister was welcomed by the Minister of Water Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana and later at various places in the city by Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha.
He visited various places in the city, seriously affected by indiscriminate and cruel shelling from across the Line of Control (LOC).
The Union Home Minister interacted with the affected families and expressed solidarity with them. During the tour, Minister Rana picked for a special relief and reconstruction package for the affected families, which highlights the immediate need for support and rehabilitation.
The Union Home Minister also distributed appointment letters to eligible persons along with LG Sinha and Minister Rana, providing them opportunities for employment and financial stability.
Additionally, he visited religious institutions in the region, assured the community of government support and commitment to their good.
In his speech, the Union Home Minister announced that the central government would soon bring a special package to the affected families in Poonch. The announcement was fulfilled by the local population with praise and hope, which has caused heavy losses due to shelling.
Minister Rana, who is a political move in the Pir Panjal region, has recently included the districts of Poonch and Rajouri, affected by Loc Shelling, hoping that HM’s visit would give consolation and much relief to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, which would facial difficulties due to the ongoing situation.
On behalf of the Jammu and Kashmir government led by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, he thanked the Union Home Minister for giving personal attention to the needs of the people of Poonch and assuring a special package for their relief and rehabilitation.
The journey by the Union Home Minister has been seen as an important step towards addressing the needs and concerns of the people of Poonch, and is expected that the special package declared by them will bring very important relief and support to the affected families.
