Shimla, Oct 24 (IANS) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Friday announced that the Government Senior Secondary School in Badsar in Hamirpur district will be affiliated to CBSE from the next session.
He said that till now 20 government schools have got recognition from CBSE.
Addressing a gathering at Barsar, the Chief Minister announced expansion of Barsar Hospital to 100 beds and said Rs 300 crore was being spent on the Cancer Institute at Hamirpur Medical College.
He announced the opening of an indoor stadium and a parking facility in Barsar city. He also announced starting of MA and M.Com classes in the local government college and installation of solar and high mast lights in gram panchayats and main markets of the area.
The Chief Minister said that Rs 100 crore will be spent on creating seven special departments in the medical college and hospital in Hamirpur. All the roads in the district are being double-lane and a provision of Rs 37 crore has been made for the Saloni-Deotsiddh road.
Chief Minister Sukhu said that Rs 96 crore is being spent on strengthening of roads in Badsar Assembly. An amount of Rs 65 crore has been sanctioned for the beautification of the famous Baba Balak Nath temple and its surroundings.
He said that the BJP government has hardly provided funds for the mini secretariat building in Badsar. “Our government gave Rs 16.50 crore to complete the mini secretariat, which was completed at a cost of Rs 17.45 crore.”
Launching a scathing attack on the BJP, the Chief Minister said that during its rule, in the name of development, the BJP built buildings worth Rs 1,000 crore which were lying vacant, besides opening 600 schools just before the general elections, without making any provision for teaching faculty.
The Chief Minister said, “During the BJP rule, the level of education deteriorated and the state’s ranking came down to 21st place.”
