As part of the ongoing consecration rituals of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered a lotus at the feet of Ram Lala, giving several devotees a chance to get a close look at the decorated idol.

Dressed in a cream-coloured dhoti and golden kurta with a patka, Modi entered the sanctum sanctorum of the temple on Monday morning holding a silver umbrella over a folded red dupatta. After this the Prime Minister took the pledge for the consecration ceremony.

After the ceremony, Modi will address a meeting. He also has a plan to visit Kuber Tila. He will also talk to the workers associated with the construction of the temple.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the “historic moment” of the consecration ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya will enrich Indian heritage and culture and take the country’s development journey to new heights.

Modi’s comment came in response to President Draupadi Murmu’s two-page letter before the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ at the Ram temple.

Tagging the President’s letter, Modi said in a post in Hindi on Twitter, “Honourable @rashtrapatibhvn ji, thank you very much for your good wishes on the auspicious occasion of Ram Lala’s consecration in Ayodhya Dham.” He said, “I am confident that this historic moment will further enrich Indian heritage and culture and take our development journey to new heights.”

Murmu, in his letter to the PM, said the nationwide celebratory atmosphere is an uninterrupted expression of the eternal soul of India and the beginning of a new cycle in the country’s revival.
