Heavy rain in Trivandrum, Kerala, 4 districts on yellow alert

Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala is experiencing heavy rainfall. The Kerala Disaster Management Authority posted on its official X handle that the Central Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert in four districts and advised not to Coast fishing in kerala.

The Central Meteorological Office has issued the weather forecast for the next five days on its official website and declared a yellow alert for several districts in Kerala.

These districts include Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Alappuzha.

The department said heavy rain is possible in the area. Heavy rain refers to rainfall ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm within 24 hours.

India Meteorological Department on its official website forecasts Kasaragod, Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam Thunderstorms and lightning will occur in areas such as Mu, Idukki and Kotiam.

At the same time, the Central Meteorological Office also informed that from April 12 to 16, the maximum temperature in Thrissur and Palakkad areas could reach 39°C.

The maximum temperature can reach 38°C in Kozhikode district and 37°C in Kannur district. The maximum temperature in Kollam Alappuzha and Kasaragod districts can reach 36°C (2°- 4° above normal).

Hot and unsettled weather is likely to occur in these areas, except hilly areas, between April 12 and 16 due to high temperatures and humid air.
