DA is a cost-of-living adjustment provided to government employees and pensioners to offset the impact of inflation. It is calculated on the basis of Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers (CPI-IW) released monthly by the Labor Bureau.
The Haryana government on Friday (October 25) announced increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) payable to its employees and pensioners to 58% from the existing 55%.
Those receiving their salary and pension or family pension as per the structure of the Seventh Pay Commission will now get DA and DR at the rate of 58%, which will increase from the existing 55% of basic pay and pension, with effect from July 1, 2025, an official release said.
According to the letter issued by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, the increased rate of DA and DR will be paid along with the salary and pension for the month of October, while the arrears for the months of July to September will be paid in November.
