Government aprons, name plates makes plates mandatory for doctors, paramedics in Jammu -Kashmir hospitals

Srinagar, 26 July: The Department of Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education has issued new directions to wear proper white aprons for all doctors and paramedical employees and clearly make surety name plates in government healthcare institutions in the central region to essentially make new directions compulsory for places called Supathya.

The instructions issued through a circular by the Civil Secretariat cite non-compliance with existing norms about uniforms and identity by employees in various institutions.

The department noticed that the lack of compliance was causing inconvenience to the patients in identifying healthcare professionals.

“All doctors, including NHM and Ayush, are engaged under paramedical staff, are directed to wear proper white aprons and display name plates, which show their full name and designation all the time while on duty,” Circular reads.

Institutes, Medical Superintendents and Chiefs of Chief Medical Officers have been instructed to ensure strict compliance of these directions in their respective facilities.

The aim of this step is to improve accountability, professionalism and patient satisfaction in government health services.
