Google Pixel Fold 2 is expected to offer a tablet-sized internal screen

Google is reportedly preparing to release a second foldable product this year. The Pixel Fold 2 may be unveiled at the company’s annual developer conference in May. It is expected to bring some improvements over last year’s Google Pixel Fold. Ahead of the official launch, DSCC analyst Ross Young leaked some details about the foldable phone. He claimed that the Pixel Fold 2 will feature a tablet-sized screen. It is said to feature an 8.02-inch foldable display.

According to Young, both screens on the Pixel Fold 2 will be much larger than the original Pixel Fold. The latter has a 7.6-inch inner folding screen and a 5.8-inch outer display.

The Pixel Fold 2 is expected to be released during the Google I/O event in May or the Pixel 9 series launch event in October. It is expected to come with Tensor G4 SoC and 16GB RAM. The phone will face competition from the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 and other upcoming foldable phones.

Google’s Pixel Fold was launched at the Google I/O 2023 event in May last year and was priced at $1,799 (approximately Rs. 1,47,500) for the base model with 256GB storage.

In terms of specifications, the Pixel Fold is powered by Google’s Tensor G2 SoC and comes with a Titan M2 security chip and 12GB LPDDR5 RAM. It comes with a triple rear camera unit that includes a 48-megapixel primary wide-angle lens, a 10.8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10.8-megapixel dual PD telephoto lens. For selfies, there is a 9.5-megapixel sensor and an 8-megapixel inbuilt selfie camera. It comes with a 4,821mAh battery that supports 30W charging and wireless charging.
