Google has been in a state of layoff since 2023, but with the biggest focus on AI, the company has some big plans for 2024 which leaked through a media report earlier this week. The roadmap is clear about one thing, AI is going to be a big part of Google’s business strategy across all sectors over the next 11 months.

Interestingly, we also included words like efficiency and cost savings in the memo, which hints at more pink slips being placed, as Google CEO Sundar Pichai has hinted at in recent reports. According to a leaked memo cited by The Verge, the search giant actually has not one or two but seven targets. Pichai basically lays out Google’s plans to its employees in the memo and is clearly motivated to increase the hype and demand for AI and bring it to various products in the coming months.

7 big goals for Google in 2024

The first goal talks about providing the world’s most advanced and safe AI for everyone. This point goes along with Google’s main focus with its AI models, including not rushing to market and putting the right disclaimers in place to keep expectations in check.

– Google wants to improve knowledge, learning, creativity and productivity which probably also focuses on business content and some skill upgrading for its employees.

– The company is also aware of continuing its strategy for products, devices and platforms for personal use.

– Google wants more customers to use its tools and resources provided by its cloud business.

The company is once again highlighting the need to offer the world’s most reliable products and platforms.

– Google wants the company to be exceptional for Googlers and the world.

– And finally, Google wants to improve speed, efficiency and productivity, and deliver sustainable cost savings throughout the year.

It’s interesting to see Google mention these indicators, and the timing seems a little strange as thousands of employees have been laid off in recent weeks and they may be reading these media reports anxiously about Google’s response to its decisions. What does it say? , Pichai mentioned that some tough decisions have to be taken and business steps have to prove their worth otherwise criticism will increase among the public.
