Panaji:
A five-year-old boy drowned in a swimming pool at a residential complex near Panaji during a birthday party, police said today.
He told that the incident happened on Wednesday.
“The boy, Daksh Mouskar, who lived in Valpoi village in North Goa, had come to Old Goa village with his parents to celebrate the birthday of his family friend. When the celebrations were going on in the club house of the residential complex, Old Goa “The boy went to the swimming pool and fell in without anyone paying attention,” said a senior officer at the police station.
“When Daksh was not found nearby, his parents first thought he might be playing with other children. However, he was later found in the swimming pool. He was pulled out and found unconscious,” he said.
The child was then taken to a nearby private hospital and later shifted to Goa Medical College, Bambolim, where he was declared dead.
The police officer said that the police have registered a case of accidental death and the investigation is ongoing.
