Srinagar, June 10: To increase emergency preparations and response among employees, ensuring a safe environment for patients, visitors and employees, Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, in collaboration with Fire and Emergency Department, organized a comprehensive fire -fire mock drill in the institution today.
Mock Drill Principal/Dean, Prof. Dr. Seen active participation from various stakeholders including Ift Hasan; Administrator Affiliated Hospital, M Ashraf Hakak; GMC and Chief Accounts Officer and Staff Member from Cleanliness, Security, Mechanical and Electrical Departments of GMC and concerned hospitals.
During the drill, the participants were trained on fire safety procedures, fire extinguishers’ use and withdrawal protocols. The practice also provided the opportunity to the employees to familiarize themselves with fire fighting equipment and emergency response systems installed in the institution.
Pro. Dr. IFAT emphasized the importance of fire safety and emergency preparations.
M Ashraf Hakak appreciated the efforts of the Fire and Emergency Department for organizing a mock drill.
The mock drill was held in a realistic and safe manner, with the fire and emergency department expert guidance and assistance. The practice concluded with a debrifling session, where the participants discussed major takeaways and areas for improvement.
GMC Srinagar is committed to ensure the safety and welfare of its patients, visitors and employees. Regular training exercises and thus help the institute to be prepared and respond effectively in case of any emergency.
