Baramulla, May 30: Youth Services and Sports, Baramulla, continued their inter-area district level badminton and table tennis competitions, which today saw enthusiastic participation from inter-school zonal level tournaments as well as young girls from across the district.
On the third day of the inter -zonal event, under -14 and under -17 girls table tennis matches were included in the indoor stadium Khwaja Bagh, where 35 students participated in U -17 categories in U -14 and 40.
Along with this, the badminton competition Bipin Rawat reached its third day at the indoor stadium, with 35 U -14 and 40 U -17 girl participants also recorded, which shows increasing interest and talent in indoor games among girls.
Connecting at the speed, YSS Zone Pattan organized an inter -school zonal level KHO competition for U -14 and U -17 girls in BMS tapers, with 223 participants from various government and private schools. Similarly, YSS Zone URI hosted volleyball and KHO-KHO competitions for U-14 girls, which attracts 96 participants in K-KHO and 60 participants in volleyballs, which neglects the expanded access to ground level sports programs in remote areas.
These competitions are part of the department’s continuous efforts to empower girls through sports and promote the culture of participation, fitness and discipline in educational institutions.
