Girl crushed to death by government car near Sukhvinder Sukhu's Shimla home

Shimla:

A three-year-old girl sleeping on the roadside near the official residence of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister in Shimla was allegedly run over by a government vehicle today, police said.

Police chief Sanjeev Gandhi said Nancy, the daughter of a migrant worker, was run over by a government vehicle while she was sleeping on the side of a restricted road this afternoon.

Mr Gandhi said the driver took her to hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

He said the girl’s family, who are natives of Jharkhand, were working at a construction site near Haryana Circuit House near Okefo.

A case has been registered against the driver and further investigation is on, he added.
