Srinagar, 26 July: In a poignant gesture, former Jammu Chief Minister and Kashmir Ghulam Nabi Azad visited the sad family of his late friend Bashrat Ahmed Khan, who is still the formal Deputy Director General of Doordarshan to provide condolences.
The high-profile journey, which took place at the family residence, saw Azad, a prominent political person and a former minister, consolation of the bereaved between a post of emotions. Khan, a revered broadcast legend, who recently died, left an indelible mark on the media scenario of Kashmir with his creativity, leadership and dedication for decades.
Azad, who had shared a deep bond with Khan from his student’s days, was visually transferred as he embraced family members and offered prayers for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
In a widely broadcast social media post two days ago, the former Chief Minister saw Khan as a column of Doordarshan, praising his honesty, integrity and visionary works, which shaped public broadcasting in the region.
