“Getting milestones in the space field has become a habit of India and its scientists”: PM Modi on National Space Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday, while addressing the National Space Day program in New Delhi, emphasized that receiving new milestones every day has become the nature of India and its scientists.

Recalling the success of Chandrayaan 3 mission, the Prime Minister said that India made history by becoming the first country to reach the south pole of the moon.

PM Modi said, “Getting a new milestone one after another in the space sector has become the nature of India and Indian scientists. Just two years ago, India reached the south pole of the moon and became the first country to make history.”

The Prime Minister also appreciated the success of the Axiom 4 mission, stating that group captain Shubanshu Shukla has filled India proud by hoisting the tricolor at the international space station.

Referring to his meeting with Group Captain Shukla, the Prime Minister emphasized the immense courage of India and infinite dreams among his youth.

“We have also become the fourth country in the world, which is to have the ability to do docking and ignores in space. Three days ago, I met Group captain Shubanshu Shukla. He flew the tricolor at the international space station and filled every Indian with pride. When he was looking at me with tricolor, he is beyond my discussion.

He further highlighted India’s progress in technologies such as semi-revision engine and electric propulsion.

“To carry forward these dreams, we are also going to prepare India’s astronaut pool. Today, on Space Day, I invite my young friends to join this astronaut pool to give wings to India’s dreams. Today India is progressing in success technologies like semi-cross-revision engine and electric propulsion,” PM Modi said.

“Soon, with the hard work of all of you scientists, India will also climb with Gaganian and in the coming time, India will build its own space station … It is located on our horizon beyond the galaxies. I strongly believe that in the space sector, there should be no final break at the level of policy.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the theme of National Space Day 2025 is Gaganan from Aryabhata. He said that with the past, the future resolution is also believed in the subject.

“I wish you all a very happy National Space Day. This time, the theme of Space Day is Gaganan. It is also believed to be the resolution of the future along with the past. Today, we are seeing that in such a short time, National Space Day has become an opportunity for enthusiasm and attraction among our youth. It is one thing for the country.”

The Prime Minister appreciated India’s success on astronomy and astronomy physics at the recently held International Olympiad. He said that 300 youths from more than 60 countries participated in this competition. The Prime Minister mentioned that Indian youth also won medals at the event and said that the Olympiad was a symbol of India’s emerging leadership in the space field.

“Recently, India has also hosted the International Olympiad on astronomy and astronomy Physics. About 300 youths from more than 60 countries have participated in this competition. On 23 August 2023, India achieved a historic milestone when Chandrayaan -3 lander completed a soft landing on the moon. This remarkable achievement made India a fourth country to fulfill this achievement and first landed on the lunar South Pole. In the recognition of this achievement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared National Space Day on 23 August.

While Prime Minister Narendra Modi, virtually addressed the main event of National Space Day, Union Minister Jitendra Singh, Indian Space Research Organization chief V Narayanan and group captain Subhashu Shukla were present on the occasion.

Shubanshu Shukla returned to Earth on July 15 after completing NASA’s Axiom-4 (AX-4) space mission and landed in Delhi on 17 August.

Shukla was part of NASA’s Axiom-4 space mission, which flew from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, US on 25 June. He returned to Earth on 15 July, falling down from the coast of California. He became the first Indian in 41 years traveling in space.

India’s first human space mission, “Gaganan” program, has entered its final stage, with the first human spaceflight now scheduled for the first quarter of 2027.

The group’s captain Prasant Balakrishnan Nair and Shubanshu Shukla will be a part of the crew for the Gaganan Mission. (AI)
