The Department of Media Studies at Government Degree College (GDC) Baramulla organized the Media Festival 2025 on Tuesday, showing student creativity, story and media literacy.
In a statement, GDC Baramulla said that the festival began with a screening of the student-made promotion video, followed by a formal inauguration session. Dr. Danish prophet welcomed the participants, and the Principal of GDC Baramullah highlighted the role of media education in dialogue and shaping the responsible story.
The event included several competitions including short film screening, a photography competition, a photo exhibition and an open theater segment. Filmmaker Ronon Zahoor, who judged the film competition, praised the originality and depth of the student’s work.
The winners were declared in feature writing, photography, photo essay and film categories. Students from Valley Institutions participated, and many entries dealt with socially relevant topics with creativity and insight.
