Shabari

The incident of ‘Shabari ke ber’ is one of the most favorite episodes of Ramayana. According to the spiritual text, Shabari was a tribal princess from a hunter-gatherer family who grew up watching animals being killed for food. She was against this idea and left her ancestral home to seek greater virtues in life.

Shabari kept wandering in the forest for many days and her search for the Guru ended in the ashram of Rishi Matang. He rendered his selfless services in the ashram of Rishi Matang for years. Seeing her devotion, sage Matanga blessed Shabari before his death and said that her good deeds and penance would help her get the darshan of Lord Rama, the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

After years of waiting, Lord Rama and Lakshmana, searching for Sita during her exile from Ayodhya, arrive at the doorstep of very old Shabari.

Shabari welcomed Lord Rama in her hut and offered him some wild fruits. To check whether they were ripe and sweet, he cut the fruits before offering them to Lord Rama.

It is said that Lakshmana objected to this, but Lord Rama saw it as an expression of devotion to the old lady and blessed her.

In his speech, the Prime Minister said that the feeling behind the faith of Mata Shabari in the heart of every Indian that ‘Ram will come’ will become the basis of a strong and divine India.

Jatayu

According to the Ramayana, Jatayu, a giant bird fought with the mighty Ravana when he was taking Mother Sita to his abode in Lanka after abducting her.

Jatayu was defeated by Ravana after a heroic battle. Lord Rama, who was searching for his wife, met the injured Jatayu on the way. Jatayu told Lord Rama about Ravana, who had moved towards the south after kidnapping Sita. After this he died in the arms of Lord Rama. Lord Ram performed his last rites.

Highlighting the loyalty of Jatayu, who knew his imminent defeat while fighting Ravana, PM Modi said that the culmination of such duty is the basis of a strong and divine India.

The statue of Jatayu has been installed on Kuber Tila in the south-western part of the Ram temple complex in Ayodhya.

Nishad Raja Guh

PM Modi also mentioned Nishad Raja Guha in his speech. Guha was the king of a tribal kingdom on the banks of the Ganges. Guha became friends with Lord Rama when he left Ayodhya for exile with Sita and Lakshmana. He helped all three to cross the river Ganga near Shringivarapura.

While returning to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile, Lord Rama again met his friend, the Nishad king.

Referring to the depth and originality of Ram’s affection towards Nishadraj, PM Modi said that this shows that everyone is one and this feeling of unity and togetherness will form the basis of a capable, grand and divine India.

Squirrel

When the monkey army was building a bridge over the sea to reach Lanka to fight Ravana and rescue Sita, one day Lord Rama saw a small brown squirrel moving up and down on the seashore with small pebbles in its mouth. Saw going.

When Lord Hanuman was carrying a heavy stone a squirrel came in his way. Lord Hanuman shouted at the small creature and asked him to move aside.

The little squirrel apologized and said that she was just helping my Lord Rama to build the bridge. Hearing this, all the monkeys laughed.

Then Lord Ram came forward and asked him to see love in the squirrel’s heart.

Highlighting the story of the squirrel, the Prime Minister said that those who consider themselves small and ordinary should remember the contribution of the squirrel and get rid of any hesitation.

He said that every effort, whether big or small, has its own strength and contribution.
