Washington:
A man stabbed four people in multiple locations in Illinois, killing four people and injuring at least five others, including a teenage girl, police said.
The stabbing occurred Wednesday afternoon, Rockford police said in a statement, adding that a 22-year-old suspect was in custody.
The statement did not mention any possible motive.
Rockford is located approximately 90 miles northwest of Chicago.
Police said the victims included a 15-year-old girl, a 63-year-old woman and two men aged 49 and 22.
A police statement said five people were injured, but US media later quoted police as saying seven people were injured.
