The violence occurred at three separate locations, beginning around 1 a.m. Wednesday when a woman was shot multiple times inside her vehicle on Dairy Ashford Road near US 90 in Sugar Land. He was taken to hospital, where he was declared dead, police said.
“We had a very tragic incident today and there are many touching parts to it,” Houston Police Lt. Larry Crowson said at a news conference.

About 45 minutes after the first shooting, the suspect drove southwest to a mechanic shop on Fondren Road houstonWhere police said he got into an argument with the owner and opened fire again, killing two people, Lt. Croson said.
“There were reports that a male in a silver Ford Escape, matching the description of the vehicle in the Sugar Land shooting, was involved in an altercation with a mechanic there,” Crowson said.
As the suspect fled the scene, he shot the 51-year-old mechanic, killing him.

Another man, who was recording the incident on a cellphone as he came out of a nearby warehouse, was also fatally shot, police said, pointing to surveillance footage that allegedly captured the exchange.
“The suspect then fired multiple shots, striking the witness,” Crowson said.
The mechanic who was shot was known for helping anyone who came to his shop, KPRC reported.

About 15 minutes later, police responded to a third shooting on Creekbend Drive near South Gesner Road, three miles away.
There, officers found the 42-year-old suspect inside the vehicle, dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, Crossan said.
Police closed several roads as investigators examined extensive crime scenes and worked to determine what caused the deadly series of events.
The identities of the three victims and the suspect have not yet been released.
