Former President Pratibha Patil admitted to Pune hospital with chest infection

Pune:

Former President Pratibha Patil is in stable condition after being admitted to a hospital for treatment of fever and chest infection, a hospital official in Maharashtra’s Pune city said on Thursday.

Patil, 89, was admitted to Bharati Hospital on Wednesday.

“Former President Pratibha Patil was admitted last night. She has fever and some chest infection. Her health condition is stable. She is undergoing treatment and is being closely monitored,” a senior hospital official said.

Patil is the first woman to serve as President of India. She held the highest constitutional office from 2007 to 2012.
