Perrie Edwards says she never lived with her partner of eight years, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

But she recently admitted they had never lived together while speaking on This Week’s The Jonathan Ross Show on ITV1 and ITVX.

Her partner currently lives and plays football in Turkey, and Edwards is in the UK, where she started her solo music career while caring for Axel.

She said: “I can’t lie, it was difficult. When he was playing for Liverpool and based in Manchester it was easy to go back and forth but Turkey was a bit far away and he didn’t get a lot of rest.

“I’m trying to start my own business while having a two-year-old, so it’s a lot to juggle, but we make it work for the people we love, don’t we?

“We never lived together anyway – in the whole eight years of our relationship, we never really lived together.”

She confirmed the song was about her relationship, adding: “Full disclosure, my partner and I don’t argue, we’re very laid back, very chill.

“But at the same time, I can also be a little petty and I can’t help it. I don’t know if that’s my sign – cancer.

“I’m stubborn, I’m emotional, but not in the best way. I’ll hold a grudge against anything he might say.

“I just can’t help it, that’s who I am, but we just started writing a song about it and I just felt like the lyrics were really relatable.”
