Former guard Rondo arrested on gun and drug charges

Former NBA point guard Rajon Rondo was arrested over the weekend on misdemeanor charges including illegal possession of a firearm, drug paraphernalia and marijuana. WDRB-TV reports Monday nightciting court records and an Indiana State Police spokesman.

Rondo, 37, was pulled over in Jackson County, Indiana, on Sunday afternoon for a traffic violation when an officer smelled marijuana, said ISP spokesman Sgt. Rondo. Stephen Wheels told the station.

Wheels told the outlet that a gun and drug paraphernalia were found during the search. He said Rondo was taken to a Jackson County jail where he posted bond. According to WDRB, Rondo is not allowed to possess a firearm because he is under a no-contact order.

According to a document obtained by ESPN, Rondo received an emergency protective order from a woman in 2022, but it was dismissed after “the parties reached an agreement.”
