Meta said, “We have mainly focused on adding utility to the app. As product functionality continued to grow, the design also needed to evolve. There are many changes coming to the app like new color palette, icons and images, navigation and more. If you’re worried about green, it’s not going anywhere, but it has a refreshing tone, making the app look effortless.

  1. New color palette: The blog highlighted that the design team considered over 35 different colors. Although the green color is not going anywhere, you can see that the green color is used more than before in many parts of the app.
  2. New icons and images: WhatsApp has introduced new icons with a more rounded and outline style. Additionally, it includes more animations and changes to the original default background.
  3. Better Navigation: For better accessibility, Meta has introduced a new modern bottom navigation bar for Android devices. There is a new attachment layout for iOS users to send photos and videos.
  4. Chat Management: WhatsApp now includes new organizational tools like chat filters. Users also have a tab to select unread or group chats.
