Foreign tourists return to Kashmir, secure and welcome it

Foreign tourists from various countries, mainly Europe, have started returning to Jammu and Kashmir (JK) after the recent incident in Pahalgam. Many have described the region as safe and welcome, sharing positive experiences and encouraging others to travel.

Speaking to Annie, a tourist from Poland, Carolina shared her positive experience, saying, “We feel very safe here. It’s not my first time in Kashmir, and Kashmiri people always smile – we really welcome here. We will come back again. This year, three groups of my company are going here – a total of 60 people will be here.

Another foreign tourist, Margaret expressed his excitement to visit Kashmir for the first time, resonating similar sentiments.

“This is my first time, and people are very sociable and hospitality. They want to take pictures with us, and we have tried very good food. I am excited to find out the heaven you present here – mountains, the gardens we have seen – a lot.

Meanwhile, an international tour guide, Unis, acknowledged the impact of Pahalgam tragedy on Tourism in Jammu and Kashmir; However, he also highlighted the joint efforts made to restore confidence.

He said, “The unfortunate tragedy in Pahalgam influenced the reputation and belief in the tourism of Kashmir. But with our joint efforts with the Polish Embassy and European Union members, we have worked to revive tourism in Kashmir.”

On 14 June, in order to revive adventure tourism and promote indigenous Games among the youth, the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education (DOSPE), Jammu University organized a ten -day sports camp at Bhadarwah campus in Doda district in collaboration with the Indian Army.

The Pahalgam terror attack has severely affected the tourism sector in Jammu and Kashmir, and the government is making strong efforts to restore confidence and revive the visit to the region.
