Bengaluru, September 30 (IANS) Karnataka BJP on Tuesday betrayed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, saying that people need immediate and effective relief and not the “photo shoot” of the aerial survey of their flood situation.
Chief Minister Siddhirah is conducting an aerial survey of flood situation in Kalaburagi, Bidari, Yadazir and North Karnataka districts of Vijayapapura on Tuesday.
Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly R. Ashok said, “It is a relief that your government, which seemed to be in deep sleep, has finally noted the flood situation in Kalyan Karnataka – ever better.”
Ashok said, “But the flooded welfare people of Karnataka do not have a” photo shoot “of your aerial survey, but immediate and effective relief.”
People hope that your aerial survey should not only be another “symbolic exercise”, he said.
So before your aircraft shut down, stop your government’s relief work – this is my biggest appeal, with the following demands. Immediately declare an emergency relief per Rs 50,000 for the affected family, he demanded.
Stop making excuses such as “software glitter”, “server down”, or other bureaucratic obstacles as have been done in the previous years. Relief camps immediately release Rs 50,000 as emergency relief to every affected family. Do not delay aid and force flood victims to spend Diwali in dark and despair, they repeated.
Once flood waters are shocked, the District-Prakriti minister, MLA, and officials should visit every village and do a comprehensive survey of crop damage, property loss and livestock effect, they urged.
During my tenure as Revenue Minister under the leadership of the previous BJP, then CM BS Yeddyurappa ensured on-the-spot check distribution. This Congress government should do the same and immediately compensation on the site, Ashok said.
Ashok further said, “After flood, the risk of widespread epidemic increases. The health department should wake up and work immediately. Mobile health vans should be sent to every village to increase awareness, take large amounts of essential medicines, and all necessary preventive measures to curb the spread of infectious diseases.”
At this time of sorrow for the people of Kalyan Karnataka, the Congress government should respond with compassion. A special economic package of Rs 10,000 crore should be announced – not only announced, but also issued – to support reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts, Ashok appealed.
There are many examples in the last two years where many real victims of floods and droughts were excluded from relief, claimed.
“This time, make sure that no one is left. Publicly release all information about who has received compensation, and to prevent any political misuse or corruption in the relief process,” said Ashok.
