Five drug pedals arrested in Avantpora, Baramullah

In continuing its continuous efforts to eradicate the danger of drugs from the society, the police have arrested five drug pedals in Avantpora and Baramullah and recovered the control material from their possession.

A suspect was identified as Khurshid Ahmed Ghani, a resident of Kadir Gani, a suspect in Avantpora, a police team of police station Pampore at a checkpoint installed in Tulbagh Crossing. During the search, 4 grams of heroin -like substance was recovered from its possession. He has been arrested and accordingly, a case of FIR No. 76/2025 under the relevant sections of the law at Police Station Pampor has been registered VID No. 76/2025 and investigation has been initiated.

Meanwhile, a police team of Police Station Pampore, which PS Pampor Disp (P) Mr. Shravan Singh intercepted 03 suspects, at a checkpoint installed in Befina Road Pampor. During the search, 10.38 grams of heroin -like substance was recovered from their possession. He has been identified as the son of Manzoor Ahmed Mir, a resident of Abdul Khalik Mir of Kadalbal Pampor, Manzoor Ahmad Baba’s Asar Manzoor son, Pantha Chowk, resident of Srinagar and son of Munar Rasul Bhat Bhat, a resident of Jomabalbal Pumpur. He has been arrested and a case under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act is registered at FIR No. 77/2025 Police Station Pampor and has been investigated.

In addition, a police party of Police Station Crary, headed by SHO PS Kreeri, established a checkpoint in Vanim Pein. During the investigation, a scooty bearing registration number JK05J-6187 riders were riding by Hilal Ahmed Bukhari, who now stopped the son of Majed Bukhari, a resident of Crary. On searching, 1.95 kg of poppy straw-like substance was recovered from its possession. The accused was arrested and the vehicle was confiscated. Accordingly, a case has been registered under FIR No. 57/2025 under the relevant sections of the law at Police Station Crary and further investigation is going on.
