More than 10,000 bangles from Firozabad reached Ayodhya on Thursday and were handed over to Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh.
“Firozabad is famous for its glass industry. Its bangles are famous everywhere. These bangles have no joints and are polished with gold. These have been brought by traders from Firozabad and 10,000 bangles have been formally handed over to the temple trust. They will be distributed among the devotees by the trust,” Singh told reporters.
Anand Aggarwal, a businessman from Firozabad, said the traders took permission from the authorities to set up stalls at the venue on January 22 and 23 for distribution of these bangles among women devotees visiting Ayodhya for the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ (abhishek) ceremony. Is. Free at Ram temple.
Crafted over months of hard work by both Hindu and Muslim workers, these bangles have images of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita and Lord Hanuman.
“These special bangles and bracelets are made by joining four or five pieces and carving images of Lord Ram, Goddess Sita and Lord Hanuman on them,” Agarwal said. The businessman said that he and his son Nishank have taken the initiative to distribute bangles and bracelets.
Aggarwal said he was a ‘kar sevak’ during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and was in police custody for two days.
Taking inspiration from Agarwal’s initiative, some traders in Gali Bauharan, the city’s main bangle market, are also making special bangles with images of Lord Ram and Goddess Sita that can be used by brides.
