Family members and friends give the final honor to the BSF constable killed in J&K cross border shelling

Family members and friends of BSF Constable Deepak Chingkham on Tuesday paid their final honors to the jawan, who lost their lives in the line of duty.

Chingkham lost his life in the line of duty on 10 May due to cross -border firing in RS Pura sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

On 12 May, his family members and relatives mourned his death.

His uncle, Chingkham Surjit Singh shared, “He was 23 years old and loved the game. He joined BSF in 2021. We are proud of him, and he will always be remembered.”

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha honored BSF Constable Deepak Chingkham on Monday during his wreath ceremony in Jammu.

Earlier, DG BSF and all rank paid condolences to Deepak Chingkham.

“DG salutes the highest sacrifice made by constable Deepak Chingakam in the row of BSF and all rank duty. He was injured in Crossboror Fire by Pakistan on 10 May 2025, along with the international border in Purma area, Jammu. He stopped for his injuries on 11 May 2025 today.

Meanwhile, former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will visit Kali Thanda village in Sri Sathya Sai district of Andhra Pradesh, who will meet the family of another jawan Murali Naik, who lost his life during cross border firing.

Earlier on May 9, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu paid tribute to the army soldier.

According to an official release by TDP, Chandrababu Naidu died the death of the young soldier of Anantapuram district. Nayudu spoke to Murali’s parents, Jyotibai and Ram Naik and assured him of the support of the state government.
