The Special Crime Branch of the Crime Branch, Kashmir, conducted a search operation at the residence of Farhat Malik in village Tendla Gandoh, Doda, as part of the ongoing investigation in a job fraud case.
A statement issued by the Crime Branch said that a team of Special Crime Branch Kashmir (Crime Branch Kashmir) is currently conducting searches in Village Tendala Gandoh, District Doda in connection with the ongoing investigation of a case of alleged fraudulent foreign job placement.
“Searches are being conducted at the residential premises of Farhat Malik, who is prima facie involved in FIR number 02/2025 registered under section 420 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for cheating and fraud,” the statement said.
The case pertains to allegations of defrauding and monetary exploitation of individuals under the pretext of providing employment opportunities abroad as well as within the country.
Acting on credible inputs and investigation leads, the Special Crime Branch of the Crime Branch, Kashmir launched search operations to recover incriminating material and evidence related to the case.
The statement said further investigation is ongoing and additional details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
Security forces and Jammu and Kashmir Police are carrying out aggressive counter-terrorism operations across the Union Territory, targeting terrorists, their on-ground workers (OGWs) and supporters.
The revised strategy is part of the campaign to destroy the entire ecosystem of terror instead of taking action only against gun-toting terrorists.
Drug traffickers, drug smugglers and people involved in hawala money and other financial rackets are also on the radar of the security forces, as it is believed that the money generated from these illegal activities is ultimately used to sustain terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
