Prince William has spoken of how he continues to be guided by Princess Diana’s legacy, a week after coming under pressure over Kate’s altered Mother’s Day photos.

this prince of wales Speaking at the Diana Prize Legacy Awards event at the Science Museum Londoncelebrating the achievements of young people around the world.

Speaking of his mother’s impact, Prince William said: “I know she would have been honored to see a charity set up in her name doing such inspiring work for young people around the world.”

On a personal note, he added: “She taught me that everyone has the potential to give back to society; everyone in need deserves help in life.

“Catherine and I both want to focus on this legacy through our work, with 50,000 young people receiving the Diana Award over the past 25 years.”

later tonight, prince harry Winners are also expected to be spoken to via video link from the United States.

Despite their differences, both brothers remain involved in the award and contribute to the ceremony in some way each year.

This year’s Legacy Awards mark the start of the 25th anniversary of the Diana Awards, the only charity established specifically in her name in recognition of her belief in the power of young people to change the world.

“My wife is very artsy,” he said as he and a group of children decorated cookies at a center in Shepherd’s Bush, west London.

The WEST centre, which stands for ‘Everybody Sticks Together’ and was named after the young people using the £12m facility, officially opened in April.

The future king also played pool and basketball with children and teenagers before joining a group working on a mental health project.
