Tesla is currently focusing on developing an AI-powered fleet of robotaxis for ride-hailing, made up of both new “Cybercabs” and pre-existing autonomous vehicles that Tesla owners can dispatch whenever they want . gizmodo,

“Think of it as a combination of Airbnb and Uber,” the 52-year-old said on Tesla’s earnings call Tuesday.

“There will be a few cars that Tesla will own and operate in a fleet, and then there will be a group of cars where they will be owned by the end user.”

Elon Musk has bet on making his business something that has never been done before when conditions are bad.

To reduce the time Tesla spends in the garage, the billionaire plans to build a fleet of robotaxis.

PayPal’s founder has been discussing this fleet of robotaxis for years, which explains why it sounds familiar to you.

He predicted in 2019 that more than one million driverless vehicles would pick up strangers by 2020. This has not happened yet but the Tesla boss is still hoping for it.

Musk continues to see Tesla as an AI and robotics firm, with robotaxis at its core.

Optimus, Tesla’s humanoid robot, should hit the market by 2025, according to the CEO, who is often upbeat about his timeline. Musk reaffirmed that Optimus “will be more valuable than everything else” when it launches.
