Elliot Page will bring Eliot Schrefer’s love story to the screen in 2021.

Pageboy Productions, which the Oscar-nominated actor runs with Matt Jordan Smith and Tuck Dowrey, has reportedly purchased the rights to the 2021 YA sci-fi novel The Hollywood Reporter.

Shreve’s the darkness beyond us It tells a love story about two young people from an enemy country who board a spaceship to perform a rescue mission. Along the way, they learn that they must work together and that love may be the key to survival.

“We are proud to support Elliott’s outstanding work,” Page, Jordan Smith and Dowry said in a statement. “The Darkness Beyond Us is exactly the type of story we want to champion in PAGEBOY – it’s subversive and deeply human at its core.”

The statement further added: “It’s a complex love story, an inventive thriller, and a space epic with twists and turns. We can’t wait to take the next step and bring it to the big screen.”

The author also has a sequel, the light between usexpected to be released in October.
