Drug Pedaling Crackdown: Anantnag Police attaches property worth ₹ 40 lakh

Anantnag, 18 June: In a continuous attempt to combat the threat of drug trafficking in the district, the Anantnag police have taken strict action under the intoxicating drugs and psychotropic substances (NDP) Act by attaching the properties related to individuals involved in drug related cases.

Regarding FIR number 175/2022, under Section 8/20 NDPS Act, registered at Police Station Bijbara, residential property of Mohammad Afzal Bhat, son of Sanullah Bhat, Momin Danji, resident of Bijbehara, are formally attached. Action was taken as part of legal proceedings to disrupt illegal benefits from drug -related activities.

Additionally, in another important development, a Hyundai Creta vehicle bearing registration number JK02CX-6665, under the ownership of Sabjir Ahmed Das, son of Nazir Ahmed Das, resident of Vagihama, Bijebara, has been registered under FIR No. 102/2025, which is registered under 29, 29, 29, 29, 29, 29, 29, 29, 29, 29, 29,

The joint estimated market price of the attached residential house and seized vehicle is around ₹ 40 lakh.

The Anantnag police reiterated their strong commitment to continue action on drug pedlers and take all necessary legal action to destroy the drug network in the district. The public is once again urged to help the district come forward with any information related to drug pedaling and make the district drug-free zone.
