Dr. Raj Nehru has been entrusted with important responsibilities in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). With their appointment, the number of OSDs (officers on special duty) in CMO has increased from one to two.
Till now, HCS officer Vivek Kalia was the only OSD in CMO. Now, Dr. Raj Nehru has been appointed as OSD with the charge of three high important departments: future departments, higher education and youth empowerment and entrepreneurship.
These departments include many major initiatives of the government. Dr. Nehru is the founder Vice Chancellor of Sri Vishwakarma Kaushal University and is known in India to lead the double model of skill education – a model that is now being adopted by many states across the country. Given his deep expertise, the Haryana government has entrusted him to the ambitious department of ambitious youth empowerment and entrepreneurship.
Their experience is expected to play an important role here from their experience in building an ideal skill ecosystem for youth. In addition, they are assigned to the Higher Education Department, as the government aims to embed a skill-based approach in higher education-ensuring that students are aligned with employment-oriented results.
Apart from this, Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini, with the target of crafting and executing the state’s long -term vision and roadmap, Dr. Nehru has also been handed over the charge of future department.
Known for its visionary leadership and institution-building skills, the appointment of Mr. Nehru showed confidence in the state government’s ability to carry forward this further initiative.
With the leading records of education and governance reforms, Mr. Nehru is expected to bring new structures, dynamic cooperation, and an overall approach to estimate and address emerging global and local challenges.
The department is designed to act as a strategic think-tank for the state-focusing on the forecast of the risk, analyzing global trends, and shaping policies around important areas such as climate change, artificial intelligence, automation, economic flexibility, demographic change and technical disruption.
Under his leadership, the future department will work in government vertical to promote policy integration, promote innovation and create the readiness of Haryana for the socio-economic and technical scenario that develops rapidly. Their experience in bridging academics, governance and industry is significantly seen in converting the department into a catalyst for active governance, converting Haryana into a state ready for the future.
Dr. Raj Nehru was appointed as the Vice Chancellor of the country’s first Government Skills University in 2016. Earlier, he also served as the Mission Director of Skill Development Corporation.
His extensive experience in the skill field has now inspired his new assignment -heading departments to directly influence youth and future development. Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini Nehru is given these three major departments with a view to implement solid, impressive schemes for the youth of Haryana.
