New Delhi:

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal yesterday urged women voters in the national capital to vote for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Lok Sabha elections.

He said it was their “responsibility” to encourage the men at home to support AAP instead of the BJP.

“Many men are chanting Prime Minister Modi’s name and only you can correct it. If your husband says he will vote for Prime Minister Modi, tell him that you will not serve him dinner,” Mr Kejriwal said.

He told the women to make their husbands swear to them that they would support AAP. “Every husband has to listen to his wife. Isn’t it? If the wife asks him to swear to her, he has to follow her,” he said.

“Tell them, Kejriwal has given you free electricity, free bus tickets and now he is giving Rs 1,000 to women. What has the BJP done for them? Then why vote for the BJP?” he said.

The Delhi government announced in the budget that Rs 1,000 will be provided to all women above 18 years of age under the ‘Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana’.

“They (BJP) say Kejriwal is giving Rs 1,000 to every woman in the city, which is a waste of money. I ask them, aren’t they spoiled when you waive off large loans to many people? ?” said the chief minister.

The Delhi Chief Minister said that so far, the BJP has perpetrated a “fraud” in the name of women empowerment.

“So far the fraud has been done in the name of empowerment. So far they have often praised a woman in the party and said women are empowered. Now I am putting one in every woman’s wallet every month Thousands of rupees. An empty wallet does not empower,” he said yesterday.
