Former US President Donald Trump has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for the fourth time. Trump’s name was raised by Republican congresswoman Claudia Taney, citing his “historic” policies in the Middle East.

This statement was released on Ms. Tenney’s official websiterevealed her decision to nominate Donald Trump for his role in the Abraham Accords.

The Abraham Accords treaty signed in September 2020 officially normalized relations between the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Israel.

Ms Taney said in a statement: “Donald Trump played a major role in brokering the first new peace agreement in the Middle East in almost 30 years. For decades, bureaucrats, foreign policy ‘professionals’ and international organizations have insisted that if There can be no more Middle East peace deals without resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. President Trump has proven that wrong.”
