Dharamveer, 118, and Balbir Kaur, 117, Haryana’s oldest voters

At 118 years old, Dharamveer of Palwal district is the oldest male voter in Haryana, chief electoral officer Anurag Agarwal said on Friday. At 117 years old, Balbir Kaur of Sirsa is the oldest woman elector.

More than 1.99 million voters in Haryana are eligible to vote for 10 Lok Sabha seats in the sixth phase of general elections to be held on May 25.

Agarwal said, “Dharamvir of Palwal district is the oldest voter in Haryana at 118 years. Similarly, Balbir Kaur of Sirsa district is 117 years old and Balbir Kaur of Sonipat district is 117 years old. Gwani is 116 years old and Rakshishek of Panipat district is 115 years old,” according to an official statement.

He said that Chandro Kaur of Rohtak district and Rani of Fatehabad district are both 112 years old, while Antidevi, Sarjit Kaur and Chobi Devi of Kurukshetra district are all 111 years old.

“Similarly, Narayani of Rewari district is 110 years old, Fulla of Kaithal district is 109 years old, Chanderi Devi of Faridabad district is 109 years old, Ramdevi of Jind district is 108 years old, Hari of Nuh district is 108 years old and Devi of Meva Jhajjar district is 108 years old. Gulzar Singh of Karnal district, Shadkin and Shriram of Hisar district and Geena Devi of Charkhi Dadri district are all 106-year-old voters,” he said.

Hardei of Bhiwani district is 103 years old and Phoolwati of Yamunanagar is 100 years old, he added.

According to another official statement released earlier, out of the total voters, there are 2,64,760 voters above the age of 85 years.

Meanwhile, Agarwal said elderly and youth voters as well as voters who have achieved major achievements in various fields have become icons in various districts of the state to boost turnout in the elections.
