As India gears up for its 75th Republic Day celebrations this Friday, Delhi traffic Police has issued parking advisory affecting four major railway stations of the capital.

Parking will not be allowed at New Delhi, Old Delhi, Nizamuddin and Anand Vihar railway stations from Thursday 10 pm to Friday 12 noon.

The advisory quoted by news agency PTI emphasized on temporary parking ban due to Republic Day celebrations. Although pick-up and drop-off options will be available outside the stations, officials have urged passengers to use public transport options.

The centerpiece of the celebrations, the annual Republic Day Parade, is scheduled to begin at 10:30 am on January 26 from Vijay Chowk to Duty Path. This year’s parade is designed to highlight women empowerment, with the theme ‘Developed India’ and ‘India – Matriarch of Democracy’. Notably, an all-women tri-service contingent will participate for the first time, comprising the Army Military Police along with counterparts from other services.

Adding international touch, French President Emmanuel Macron will grace the occasion as the chief guest, while a French contingent including members of Indian and Nepali origin will march in the parade. Additionally, a French refueling aircraft and two Rafale jets will be part of the celebrations, as reported by HT.

Giving top priority to security, over 14,000 personnel have been deployed in and around the duty path, supported by advanced technology and human intelligence monitoring to ensure safe Republic Day celebrations in Delhi.
