A 30-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by a teenager after a drunken fight in south Delhi’s Neb Sarai area, police said on Wednesday.
The accused has been detained and investigation is ongoing, they said.
The victim was identified as Ajruddin, a resident of Sangam Vihar, police said.
Neb Sarai police station received a PCR call at 6.15 am about a man lying near Ekta Chowk.
A police team reached the spot and rushed the man to hospital, where he was declared brought dead, a senior police officer said.
The body had four stab wounds. An FIR has been registered under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code, the official said. Police later identified the teenage defendant.
He told police a fight broke out over alcohol and he hit the victim with a brick and stabbed him multiple times.
The office added that the knife used in the crime had been seized.
The victim’s family demanded severe punishment for the accused.
