Delhi Police arrests 37-year-old woman from Bihar for selling stolen high-end SUV (Representative)

New Delhi:

Delhi Police has arrested a 37-year-old woman from Bihar for allegedly selling a stolen high-end sports utility vehicle (SUV), police said today.

The accused, Lovely Singh, is a resident of Patliputra in Bihar. After her husband Govind was arrested last year, the police launched an operation and arrested one person on April 3. Two stolen cars were stolen from Deputy Commissioner of Police Maruti Brezza (East) Apoorva. Gupta said.

The DCP said: “During interrogation, Govind revealed that his wife Lovely received a large number of stolen luxury cars from Delhi and further sold or supplied them to others in Bihar and Jharkhand. “

Several police teams have been formed to nab Singh but she has been evading the police by changing her residence, the DCP said. She also resides in reputed societies to avoid suspicion.

“The court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against her and further declared her a suspect on December 20, 2023. On April 3, Lovely was arrested from Patliputra area and granted transit remand,” the DCP said.

During interrogation, Lovely told police that after graduation, she started working at an insurance company, where she met people who were involved in buying and selling stolen vehicles, the DCP said.

“She and her husband Govind started dealing in stolen vehicles. She disclosed that she was arrested in Ranchi, Jharkhand, in 2021 in a case related to stolen vehicles and robbery,” she said.
