New Delhi:
A 23-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly stealing money from a donation box at a monastery in Pushp Vihar, south Delhi, police said on Monday.
They said a complaint about the theft was received on April 2, following which an FIR was registered and an investigation was launched.
“We examined the CCTV footage and interrogated the gurdwara staff. During interrogation, former security guard Rohit Kumar admitted to stealing money from the donation box,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ankit ·Ankit Chauhan said.

Kumar admitted that he obtained duplicate keys to donation boxes and stole money multiple times while working as a security guard from April 2023 to December 2023.
“In the latest incident, he stole Rs 55,000 and paid Rs 35,000 as down payment for buying a motorcycle,” the DCP said.
