New Delhi, Oct 25 (IANS) Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan on Saturday held an important interaction with the top leadership of the Indian Army focusing on operational preparedness and future challenges during the ongoing Army Commanders’ Conference.

The high-level review emphasized on strengthening combat capabilities, infrastructure development and preparedness of the armed forces to effectively deal with any security situation in the region.

According to a post shared by Headquarters Integrated Defense Staff (HQ IDS) on Twitter, “Hon’ble Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh and Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan engaged with the top leadership of the Indian Army at the Army Commanders’ Conference.

The Defense Minister and the CDS reviewed the prevailing security situation in the region and discussed measures to enhance future preparedness of the armed forces for any eventuality.

During the talks, they were briefed on operational preparedness and key initiatives taken to strengthen combat capability and infrastructure in the region.

“The CDS also had a frank conversation with the officers and jawans,” HQ IDS posted on Twitter.

The Defense Minister’s meeting with senior Army commanders comes at a time when the Indian Armed Forces are going through a significant phase of modernization and structural reforms aimed at enhancing jointness and operational synergy among the three services. The discussions also focused on integration of advanced technologies, indigenization under ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ and strategies to ensure that the Army remains combat ready in diverse terrains and operational environments.

Earlier, on Friday, HQ IDS had shared another post on X, which said, “Hon’ble Defense Minister Shri Rajnath Singh and General Anil Chauhan, Chief of Defense Staff, CDS graced the second edition of the Indian Navy’s biennial Commanders’ Conference 2025.”

“Addressing the conference, the CDS acknowledged the exceptional professionalism, unwavering resolve and operational prowess of Team Navy in maintaining combat readiness, which has made the nation very proud,” HQ IDS posted on Twitter.

The CDS also interacted with senior naval leadership on jointness, integrated operations and India’s maritime strategic priorities in the Indian Ocean Region.

“Together with #CNS, focus is on building #CombatReady, #CredibleForce and #FutureReady #AatmanirbharNavy by 2047, strengthening the vision of a #FutureReady force,” the post said.

The back-to-back activities of the Defense Minister and the CDS with the Army and Navy leadership are aimed at maintaining a combat-ready, credible and future-ready defense force capable of protecting India’s strategic interests on all fronts.
